In this article, we explain how you can use public transport with Whim. There are four ways to buy tickets and access public transport through the Whim app.

Buying a ticket through Journey Planner
When in the home view, you can find the Search bar at the top of the screen (Fig. 1).

Clicking on the search bar opens up the Journey Planner (Fig.2). Your current location is automatically entered as your departure location into the ‘From’ field (you may edit this by tapping the field again and entering a desired address) and all you need to do is to enter your destination into the ‘To’ field below or to choose one from your list of favourite locations (displayed under the destination field).
Once you have entered a location into both fields, the app will automatically display a list of journey options (Fig. 3).

You can click on each option to see details of the journey. Choose your preferred option and purchase your tickets by selecting “Start Trip” (Fig. 4). Your public transport tickets will be issued prior to the start of your journey.

Buying tickets through Favourites
You may book public transport tickets via Favourites. Your Favourites will appear in your Home view below the search bar (Fig. 5).
To buy a ticket, simply click your favourite destination and proceed as advised in Buying a ticket through Journey Planner.

Buying a ticket through Calendar Entries
If you have allowed Whim to access your calendar, you may also buy public transport tickets via Calendar entries that appear in the "Upcoming" section of your Home view (Fig.6). Select a calendar entry and proceed as outlined in Buying a ticket through Journey Planner.

Buying a ticket through Whim Button
Finally, you may book public transport via the Whim button (Fig.5) - the fastest way to book public transport.
Tap the 'W' in the middle of the navigation bar. This open the Whim view, where you can then select Public Transport (Fig. 7) and the type of ticket required for your journey (Fig. 8).

After tapping on the desired ticket, it will be issued within 10 to 15 seconds (under good network conditions).
Note: If you are not a paid plan subscriber you will be requested to pay for the ticket.
Next, you will see your ticket in the tickets view - while being issued (Fig.9) and after it has been issued (Fig.10).
