Whim plans renew automatically to help you keep travelling without interruptions. If you do not wish for your plan to renew at the next renewal, you will need to discontinue your plan prior to the renewal date. In this article we explain how you can discontinue your plan.
How to discontinue your plan
Below are the detailed steps on how to discontinue your paid plan (Example pictures are taken from Helsinki). Please note that the discontinuation will only take effect from the beginning of the next billing cycle and you may continue using your plan until the paid period ends. However, any unused days in the current billing cycle will not be refunded.
Step 1: Go to the profile page and click on “Current Plan”.
Step 2: On the next page, click on “Edit ” and this will take you to the plan customization view, where you may either customize or discontinue your plan.
Step 3: In the plan customization view, scroll down to find the “Discontinue plan” button.
Step 4: Tapping the Discontinue Plan button brings you to a Discontinuation view, where you need to confirm that you do wish to discontinue your plan by tapping “Discontinue plan”.
Step 5: After you have confirmed that you wish to discontinue your plan, you should see a confirmation window, which you can exit by tapping “OK”.

Your plan can be customized/discontinued anytime before the renewal date. However, we recommend that you do the change in-app well in advance, at least 1 day before the subscription renewal date.
Why was my paid plan automatically discontinued during the plan renewal?
In the event that we are not able to collect payment from you at the time of your subscription renewal, your plan renewal will fail and your plan will be discontinued. In order to use your subscription again, please try to purchase it again through the Whim app. In the case that the update still fails, we kindly recommend you check your payment method and contact our customer care via in-app Help Centre.
Can I discontinue my subscription after renewal and get a refund for it?
Unfortunately, the current plan cannot be discontinued after it has been renewed. You may, however, discontinue your plan anytime before the next renewal and it will be discontinued by the end of the ongoing term.
