JT-Line Tickets Available through Whim
Island Hopping Day Tickets for Adults for 12€ per person
- Valid for one day from the time of purchase until 3am the next morning.
- With the Island Hopping Day Ticket you may travel as many journeys as you wish between Kauppatori, Lonna, Vallisaari and Suomenlinna.
You can travel on the following routes (operating 1.6.2020 - 4.10.2020 in summer 2020) with the Island Hopping Day Tickets:
- Market Square > Lonna > Vallisaari > Suomenlinna (Artillery Bay & King's Gate) > Lonna > Market Square
- Market Square > Lonna > Suomenlinna (Artillery bay & King's Gate) > Lonna > Market Square

Using JT-Line Waterbuses with Whim
Buying a Ticket
- Choose Ferry from the Whim app Home View.

- Choose “Island Hopping, adult” ticket.
- See information about the ticket, routes, stops & the timetable.

- Accept T&Cs and confirm the purchase*.
*Please note that once a ticket has been purchased and activated, it can no longer be cancelled.

- Your ticket is now activated. You can find your active tickets under Active Tickets section in the Whim app Home View (Fig. 4).

Boarding a Waterbus
- Go to the right departure port ideally at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
- Show the ticket on your phone to JT-Line staff when boarding the waterbus. They will scan the QR code to verify your ticket.

Can I cancel my JT-Line ticket?
Unfortunately, it will no longer be possible to cancel a JT-Line ticket after the ticket has been purchased and activated.
Can I purchase a ticket for a specific departure?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to purchase a ticket for a specific departure. In order to ensure that you will get in the waterbus that you wish, JT-Line recommends you to arrive at the departure point at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure.
Can I purchase multiple Island Hopping tickets through Whim?
Yes, you can! If you wish to purchase tickets through Whim also for your friends or family, you can easily purchase multiple tickets one by one through Whim. Once purchased and activated, all of the tickets will be visible in your Whim app Ticket view.
Can I purchase children’s tickets through Whim?
Unfortunately, at the moment children’s Island Hopping tickets are not available via Whim. These can however be purchased directly from the waterbus.
Children under 7 travel for free when accompanied by an adult.
My phone has run out of battery/broken. Can I still take the waterbus?
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are able to prove that you hold an active ticket during your journey. If for some reason you are not able to show your ticket to the ticket inspectors, you will need to buy a new ticket when entering the waterbus.
There was not enough space on the waterbus I was planning to board. What can I do?
Although there is usually enough room on the waterbus, JT-Line cannot guarantee that you will be able go on board a specific departure. JT-Line advises you to arrive at the departure point at least 15 minutes before departure. If you are unable to get onboard, we kindly advise you to wait for the next available waterbus. During very busy times JT-Line may be sending extra vessels out to ensure that you will be able to continue your journey without major delays.
Can I take a bike with me when travelling with JT-Line?
It will be possible for you to take a bike with you on most of the journeys. You will be charged 3€ per bike to one direction and 6€ for a return. The fee can be paid directly to the staff on the waterbus.
Can I take a pushchair or a pram on the boat?
Pushchairs and pram are permitted on the waterbus. However, if the vessel is very crowded, you may be asked to wait for the next departure.
Children under 7 travel for free when accompanied by an adult.
Can I take a wheelchair on the waterbus?
If you or someone in your group is using a wheelchair, we kindly ask you to get in touch with JT-Line as soon as possible prior to the departure, so that JT-Line will be able to make the required arrangements.
I missed the last waterbus back to Helsinki. What can I do?
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are at the departure point early enough to catch the last departure. If you miss the last waterbus, we recommend looking up Taxi boat services that may be able to come and pick you up.
