Steps of renting a Car with Whim
1. To book a rental car, tap “Rental Cars” in the Home View (Fig. 1).

2. The Car Rental View will open up (Fig. 2). You can edit location, pick-up, and drop-off dates and times in this view. You can scroll down the “Find a car” section to see the map and rental companies. You can filter the rental companies by pressing the button on the right bottom corner (Fig. 3). This will open up the rental company filter (Fig. 5).

3. Once your pick-up and drop-off times and dates have been set, Whim will show you all available cars* (Fig. 4). Tap specific cars listed to view more details of the rental car. You can filter (Fig. 5) the rental companies that are shown by pressing the button in the upper right corner.
*Note: If the app shows no cars available, this might be due to start and end times being out of rental office hours.

4. Once you have chosen a car that suits you, proceed to “Select” the car (Fig. 6). Confirm the payment to reserve your rental car (Fig. 7).

5. Your booking has been made (Fig. 8)! You can view your upcoming bookings under the “Active Tickets” section in the Home View (Fig. 9). Tap a booking to open up a detailed view of the booking.

If you wish to cancel your booking, open up the detailed booking view by tapping the booking under the “Active Tickets” section in the Home View (Fig. 9). Scroll down to the bottom of the page and choose “Cancel booking” (Fig. 10). Once your booking has been canceled, you will see a confirmation at the top of the app’s screen (Fig. 11) and the payment for the booking will be refunded to you within a couple of banking days.

What kind of rental cars can I get with Whim?
Sixt:
(Temporarily not available)
There is a range of 5 different car classes through Sixt (5 car groups from sedans to station wagons). The app shows you the available cars and offices and you can pick the one that suits you best.
Extras and add-ons, e.g., child seats or return empty of fuel, are currently only available through Sixt for an extra price.
Please note that the additional driver, too, must show a valid driving license at the Sixt office.

Hertz:
With Whim, you can book Hertz rental cars fast and easily, with just a few clicks. Hertz offers 2 car categories: Ford Fiesta (manual transmission) and Volvo V40 (both manual and automatic transmission available).
If you need other extra services during the car rental (i.e., children’s safety seat, returning the car with an empty gas tank, etc.) please contact the car rental.
An additional driver is not included in the price when renting from Hertz, but this can be purchased as an extra service when picking up the car (29,50€ per additional driver)
What is the cancellation policy for car rentals?
You may cancel your car reservation from Sixt and Hertz in the Whim app any time before the pick-up time.
Where do I pick up my car and what do I need to bring?
Sixt:

Rental cars are picked up at Sixt offices. When picking up the car, you need to present a valid credit card and an advance charge approval is obtained for the card as a security. The deposit sum is based on the vehicle group (for most common car categories it is 250€). The money will be returned to you at the end of your rental if everything is in order. The payment method must have been issued in the name of the driver. This must be presented at the time of vehicle pick-up and be valid at this time. The renter must be the owner of the indicated credit card. All additional costs will be charged from this card.
The cost of your rental includes unlimited kilometers* and compulsory third-party insurance.
Please note that Sixt Rent a Car accepts most major international credit cards, such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard and Visa, and AirPlus accounts. It does not accept prepaid vouchers, debit cards (Visa Electron, Maestro), or cash.

*Note: If you have rented a car from Sixt for more than 27 days, a 2000-kilometers per month limit will apply to your reservation. Any driven kilometers over the 2000 km/month will be charged with a fee set by Sixt. For a rental of 27 days or less, no kilometer limit applies.
Hertz:
The rental cars are available in all Hertz offices in Turku.
When picking up the car, you need a credit card for a 200 € deposit. In this case, there are any damages caused the excess is 980€-1500€ per damage depending on the car class. The payment method must have been issued in the name of the driver. This must be presented at the time of vehicle pick-up and be valid at this time. The renter must be the owner of the indicated credit card. All additional costs will be charged from this card. The deposit will be returned to your card after the rental if the car is returned as agreed and its condition matches the Hertz terms and conditions.
Hertz accepts commonly used credit cards for deposits and possible extra services. They don't accept prepaid cards, debit cards, Visa Electron, Maestro, or cash.

How do I return my car?
Sixt:

Your rental car should usually be returned to the same rental location. If you wish to return the car to a different location, please contact the car rental office to arrange this. They might charge an extra fee for this service.
Please remember to fill up the tank before returning the car, unless you have agreed with Sixt upon pick-up to return the car empty of fuel. For more information, please see Sixt Terms and Conditions in Finland.
Hertz:
Your rental car should usually be returned to the same rental location. If you wish to return the car to a different location, please contact the car rental office to arrange this. They might charge an extra fee for this service.

What's the minimum age to rent a car?
For Sixt, the renter should be at least 19 years of age and hold a valid driving license for at least one year.
With Sixt, drivers under 25 years old will also need to pay a Young Driver Surcharge. The Young Driver Surcharge is a fee that will be applied for rentals to young drivers and the price varies depending on the state of the rental. For Hertz, the minimum age for every driver is 18 years old. A deviation from the minimum age is possible depending on the vehicle, you can find the age limits per car category here.
Is an additional driver included in the price of my rental car?
You can purchase an additional driver separately from the rental offices:
- Sixt: 29€ per additional driver
- Hertz: 29,50€ per additional driver
Please note that the additional driver must also come along to pick up the car and present their driving license when picking up the car.

What is the maximum rental period?
Sixt:

Whim has no maximum rental period. You will see the price for your rental before confirming it on the whim app. Just like many other car rentals, the daily rental fee works out cheaper for a longer rental period (for example 5 days or a weekend) with Whim, too.
Hertz:
There is no maximum rental period for rental cars from Hertz.
How can I compare the rental prices of different cars?
You can compare the rental prices by scrolling through the available cars within the Whim app. Click on the car of your choice for more information and a map view of its location.
Remember to specify the rental period you require to see current car availability.
I accidentally booked a rental car. Can I still cancel it?
It’s easy to cancel a rental car booking within the app. You can see all your upcoming trips under the Active Ticket section in the Home View. To open a booking tap your rental booking to open it up, scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap “Cancel booking”.
I tried to rent a car but there is none available or the price is too high. What can I do?
The reason behind limited or no availability could be that most of your nearest Sixt or Hertz offices are closed at the time you have selected. Select a pickup time during office hours to see a wider selection of cars and offices.
If the cars are too expensive, try, for example, a Friday pickup and a Monday return or a longer rental period, such as 5 days. If you wish, you may return the car before the agreed return date.
What is the cancellation policy for car rentals?
You may cancel your car reservation any time before the pick-up time.
Can I get a refund for the lost time if the rental car is picked up later or returned earlier than the pre-booked time?
If the vehicle is picked up later or returned earlier than the pre-booked time, kindly note that no refunds will be paid. Extra fees may apply for late pick-ups and late returns. We kindly ask you to contact the rental office as soon as possible, if you are not able to pick up or return your rental car on time.
I have Sixt regular customer card. Can I use it on my car bookings made in Whim?
It is not possible to use the regular customer card benefits in bookings made via Whim.
