Overview
This article covers the different Whim Plans that are offered in Japan.
Introduction to Whim plans
Whim plans are the world's first multi-mode mobility solution. They facilitate travel with different modes of transportation via a subscription plan from a single mobile app. Whim is a convenient way to book and pay for Taxi rides, Docomo shared bikes, Careco shared cars and nearMe's shared shuttles.
How to sign for Whim
- Download Whim from the Apple Store or Google Play.
- Enter your phone number and Verification code
- Accept the Terms & Conditions and Privacy policy of the Whim App.

- Select “Japan” as country of use

- The whim Home view will open up → Tap on the “Profile” symbol. Your profile view will open up.

Types of Whim plans
Public PAYG
This is public Pay-as-you-go (PAYG) and available to everyone in Japan who downloads Whim. Under PAYG, you will have access to Careco, Taxis, Docomo Bike Share, and nearMe shared shuttle on a pay-per-use basis.
Public PAYG (Bike Share Day Pass)
This is Bike Day Pass and is available to everyone in Japan who downloads Whim. The Pass expires after 24 hours from purchase time. The One-day-pass includes:
- An unlimited number of Docomo bike rides within 24 hours. You can ride as many as you want. Please note that for the trips exceeding the included limit the standard Docomo will be applied
How to reserve a bike
To reserve the bike, simply open Whim and tap on Bikes.

See the available packages and tap to select what package you want.

Select the day pass. Please note that prices might change.

Proceed to make payment. By confirming payment, you accept the Docomo Terms and Conditions.

Your order will be confirmed and you will be able to see and use the valid bike pass under “Travel by”-> Bike.

How to add a travel coupon code
To add a travel coupon code, simply to your Profile -> Add Travel Credit -> Enter code -> Submit.
